A petrified tree, damaged and split, possibly by a dinosaur, after which when still standing, bracket fungi grew on the trunk before it fell and was petrified; from the Upper Jurassic petrified forest assemblage, Shishu Formation, Junggar Basin. The fossil tree is stood in a 19th century lacquered wooden base 45 cms high. On the reverse side of fossil is the undulating bark. The lower part of the formation includes a basal conglomerate containing well-rounded clasts and silty mudstones interbedded with fine-grained sandstones. Silicified trees occur in this part of the formation, as do dinosaur remains identified as Tianshallsaurus chifaiensis (Compiling Group, (981). (1) L.
