Description / Expertise

Thomas Falcon Marshall was a native of Liverpool. He was mainly a historical and genre painter. He was a versatile and prolific painter, and an admirer of William Powell Frith. His subjects included rustic scenes, cottage interiors, farmyard scenes and also historical genre scenes upon which he was greatly influenced by Goldsmith, Thompson, Byron and others. Little is known about his Liverpool years, however he did exhibit at the Liverpool Academy from 1836.
