Description / Expertise

Alexander Abdo was a painter of fantasies, and symbolic and romantic landscapes. He studied art privately, and exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, the London Salon, the Royal Academy, and the Royal Cambrian Academy.
The Mystical Garden represents Abdo's fascination with the legend of the Doppelganger, the vision of which is a presentiment of death. In this painting a young girl sees herself dying while she is visited by her ghost.
